Chitosan: Information

This soluble fiber, with a positive charge, has been widely used by industry for several purposes, including the absorption of fats and oils of plants in water treatment, health and nutrition.

Discovered in the nineteenth century, the use of chitosan as food has become widespread only a few decades ago, by Japanese scientists were the first to discover the possible benefits of chitosan feeding people. After years of studies, researchers found that chitosan acts as an aid in lowering cholesterol, probably due to decreased absorption of lipids from the gastrointestinal tract.

Chitosan has no caloric value because it can not be absorbed. Chitosan can hold between 60 to 10 times its weight in fat.

Grease and when added chitosan is not digestible form a mass, which is excluded through the digestive tract. Due to their electrical charge, chitosan can selectively absorb saturated fats even in aqueous media. Thus, all the fat that is linked to chitosan passes through the body without being absorbed or retained.

It is also believed that supplementation with chitosan may be part of the creation of a purification process that is very necessary to lose weight.

The use of chitosan in the system makes the body store less fat in the body. With a little fat being absorbed into the body, the body uses the fat that is stored in the body to be burned. This changes the energy sources from your diet for their fat stores and results in a reduction of body fat and weight.

In Japan, for example, tea is the protagonist of a ceremonial complex and significant. The arrival of tea to Europe was not quick. The earliest reference found in European literature about the tea are attributed to Marco Polo, on account of his journey who had referred to the tea in a letter to his sovereign.

Since its introduction on the European continent occurred early in the century. XVII, depending on the trade that was then established between Europe and the Orient. Apparently, it was the Dutch who first brought tea to Europe, intensifying their trade, later developed by the British. In England, its use spread rapidly, becoming a very popular drink. Foods that are difficult to digest, such as eating too many sweets, and meat or fish that are not well cooked (they are partially raw) can also cause vomiting and diarrhea.

If you feed your baby formula, try changing the formula milk that is lactose while the child is sick. The lactose can make diarrhea worse. The doctor may also suggest switching from formula to ORS for 12 to 14 hours and then switching back to formula.

In children who are toddlers and young children, use an ORS containing a mixture of salt, sugar, potassium and other nutrients to help replace lost body fluids. Children older than one year may also have wines, sodas (soft) light or juice mixed with water in order to prevent dehydration. You should avoid giving your child plain water and cola. Sexually Transmitted Diseases

After the appearance of oral contraceptives and the release of the customs, there was an alarming increase in the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. This increase was mainly between the 50 and 70 and thereafter stabilized. In 80 years AIDS has emerged, closely linked to the use of injected illicit drugs and sexual promiscuity. Thus, it is very important to know and avoid diseases that can be transmitted by sexual intercourse.

Gonorrhea: It is transmitted by sexual contact and can reach the vagina, rectum, pharynx, urethra and eyes. In the case of the vagina, the infection usually presents few symptoms and therefore the diagnosis is made by observing the sexual partners. In humans, infection is very painful and urethral discharge. It is very important to the diagnosis and treatment of pregnant women, because the disease can cause a very serious infection in the eyes of newborns, the gonococcal oftalmite. Prevention is done with the use of condoms and regular consultations to the gynecologist. Whenever there is an unprotected contact with a partner suspected, consult your doctor.

Trichomoniasis: The Trichomonas vaginalis is a protozoan and can cause disease in man and woman. In women, trichomoniasis is manifested as an abundant discharge, greenish-yellow, foamy and irritation and pain in the vulva and nearby region. There may be pain during intercourse and difficulty urinating. Men usually have no symptoms. The diagnosis is by clinical examination and vaginal secretions. Condoms are effective for prevention.

Genital herpes: It is the infection caused by herpes simplex virus, the same family as the chicken pox virus, which is very contagious and spreads through sexual contact. The disease manifests as a painful lesion that is red, which evolves as small bubbles. The lesions appear 4-7 days after exposure. There is a tendency (80% of cases) the lesions reappeared in moments of stress, depression and more intense sexual activity. There is no treatment. During the period of disease activity is advised abstinence, since condoms do not provide good protection to the partner.

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS): It is transmitted through sex, needle sharing and blood transfusions. Currently blood banks maintain good control of patients, AIDS transmitted by this route has been increasingly rare. The proportion of gay men was much higher than that of other groups affected by the disease in its early descriptions, but today the number of men and women who have acquired the syndrome is almost equal. Once the virus enters the circulation, it grows and reproduces inside a type of defense cell, destroying it, which causes the individual to have so-called opportunistic infections. Prevention is the best weapon against the disease: always use condoms, do not share needles and do not use illicit injectable drugs. To date, there is no definitive treatment against the syndrome, but the survival of patients has increased significantly.

There are other diseases that can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, for example, hepatitis B, lymphogranuloma venereum and granuloma inguinale. Remember that your doctor is the best person to answer your questions. Refer to it whenever necessary.

The kidneys filter out many of these substances, incorporating them into the urine to excrete. Carcinogens, concentrated in the urine, remain long in contact with the mucous membrane lining the bladder.

It is estimated that the bladder of a smoking half a pack of cigarettes is in contact with urine contaminated with carcinogens one hundred percent of the time.

How to Gain Muscle Mass

The increased muscle mass improves athletic performance, increases protection of bones and joints, improves the aesthetics and modeling of the body and improved fitness.

Sport and physical activity work together to gain muscle mass, but resistance training (weight training in which there is a resistance), as the weight is the most efficient way to increase the volume of muscle.

There is a defined percentage to decrease body fat and increase muscle mass, this varies for each individual, because each body reacts in a physical activity and eating plans. The results take into account the number, frequency and intensity of physical activity, nutrition, genetics, hormonal problems, among other factors.

To have increased muscle mass, the process is more significant muscle hypertrophy, which is an increase in muscle cross section. Muscle hypertrophy increases the size and number of actin and myosin (protein), and the addition of sarcomeres (constituents of the internal structure of the muscle) within the existing muscle fibers.

In practice, there is a tension overload in the muscles. After weight training, muscle size increases. Muscle tension causes the muscles to contract due to the resistance offered.

Protein filaments are destroyed during the practice of weight training, however the rest period, these filaments are redone at a faster rate than the destruction of enabling them to gain muscle mass. The protein synthesis after exercise, is stimulated by anabolic hormones in our body that are GH, testosterone, insulin.

Gain muscle mass is the result of proper training combined with balanced nutrition. The use of anabolic hormones and drugs is never a solution is to increase muscle volume, it causes serious and irreversible damage to health and can be acquired heart and kidney problems and hypertension, among others.

To gain muscle weight training workouts should be well targeted according to need their rest time obeying. The weights must be difficult, however you must respect their limits. Do not forget to stretch before and after training sessions of strength training.

Fracture First Aid

The fracture is the partial or total breakdown of bone caused by a strong blow, a fall or crushing. The fracture is considered closed when there is disruption of the skin, or open (compound fracture) occurs when breaking the skin. This type of fracture can cause external bleeding, imminent risk of causing infection.

The following are some tips for first aid care in case of fracture. It is important to remember that this service should be used for maintenance of life, avoiding the worsening of his condition until expert help arrives.

1. Call emergency medical specialist, if sent an ambulance did not perform this service, leave the details of the relief team that has most suitable material for the same. In a place where there is no ambulance and you need to move, follow the steps to care in case of fracture, allowing the immobilization to transport the victim.

2. Try not to move the fracture site.

3. If the fracture is in any extremity (hand, arm, leg) remove objects (watches, rings, shoes) that reduce circulation. These objects can cause edema (swelling) in the affected limb.

4. If bleeding can be no fracture. Protect the area with a clean cloth and wrap with a bandage on the bleeding site.

5. Do not crush the bone. Try to immobilize the limb (improvised a splint) the way it is, without moving it.

6. In case of fracture in the upper extremities (arm and hand), make a sling to keep the local property.

7. Never try to put the bone in place, this procedure must be performed by a physician within the hospital, with all the necessary precautions.

8. If there is suspected cervical spine fracture or skull, try to keep the neck immobile. Protect the victim's head so they do not make moves. Never lift or turn aside the victim's head.

9. If there is the possibility of hip fracture, may be a risk of internal bleeding due to ruptures of blood vessels. Watch for signs and symptoms that can lead to shock.

10. If you have to transport the victim, immobilize it on a hard surface (a sort of makeshift stretcher). Set the body on a stretcher (using, for example, strips of cloth), projects the neck.

Headache or Migraine?

Headache is a symptom that can come from multiple causes. Any of the structures of the head can suffer painful processes, including muscle, blood vessels, nerves, bones, teeth, eyes and sinuses. Among these components, the most commonly committed by processes called painful headaches are the muscles and vessels. Migraine is a type of headache caused by blood vessel changes.

In the beginning there is a vasoconstriction, ie, the vessel diameter decreases, there is less blood available to the brain tissue. After this vasoconstriction, vasodilation occurs. As the skull is closed, when blood vessels grow in size, there is an increase in intracranial pressure, which causes pain.

The most common types of migraine are classic and common. In classic migraine, an "aura" before the attacks of headache. It is caused by low brain tissue oxygenation during vasoconstriction, in which the patient may suffer from visual hallucinations, auditory or olfactory. Fainting can also occur or periods of mental confusion. After this phase, the patient begins to feel pain, usually on one side of the head (migraine), throbbing, moderate to strong, with variable duration (minutes to days), accompanied by nausea and vomiting, which worsens with the noise and with clarity and improves sleep.

The common migraine is very similar to the classic, except not be preceded by "aura". Outside of infancy, most people with migraines are women and often is related to the menstrual cycle, especially in the premenstrual period.

Childhood Cancer

Childhood cancer refers to all types of cancer suffered by children up to age 14.

It is estimated that over 160,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer every year and this figure could be considerably higher. Data on the incidence of childhood cancer in developed countries are mostly inaccurate. We need more population-based cancer registries to determine the actual number of children with cancer.

80% of child cancer patients live in developing countries, and this proportion will grow as the elimination of infectious diseases.

In developed countries, three in four children with cancer survive at least five years after diagnosis. In developing countries, more than half of children diagnosed with cancer is likely to die. Late detection and limited access to effective cancer therapies often result in only a small percentage of patients to receive necessary medical treatment to save his life.

Common types of childhood cancer: Leukemia, Lymphomas, Central nervous system tumors, Retinoblastoma, Kidney Cancer, Bone tumors, Soft tissue sarcomas.

Childhood cancers symptoms: (1) Abnormal abdominal mass or swelling. (2) Prolonged fever, unexplained. (3) Pallor, loss of energy and rapid weight loss. Chemotherapy Treatment

The duration of chemotherapy depends on a number of factors. These factors include the type of cancer, the extent of the cancer, the type of drugs administered, and the anticipated toxicities of the drugs and the time needed to recover from these toxicities. Many programs of chemotherapy (including the type and duration of chemotherapy) have been determined through clinical trials in which comparisons were made and established what was most beneficial and what was to be better tolerated.

In general, chemotherapy is administered in cycles. This allows cancer cells to attack when they are most vulnerable and allow time for the body's normal cells to recover from damage suffered. There are really three aspects of the cycle time, cycle length, cycle frequency and the number of cycles.

Chemotherapy treatment may consist of a single drug or a combination thereof. The drugs can be given all in one day, several consecutive days or continuously to the patient or outpatient basis. Treatment may take minutes, hours or days, depending on the specific protocol.

In most cases, the number of cycles or duration of chemotherapy from beginning to end, has been determined on the basis of research trials and clinical trials.

Cellulite Causes and Treatment

The causes of cellulite are numerous, can not be blamed for it as a single factor. For this reason, medical science could not give a definitive answer to this condition, the best thing you can do so far is to reduce or control through medical treatments.

The main causes of cellulite presents basic factors (structural and hereditary) and secondary (estrogen, excess movement, breath, constipation, liver, digestive tract), as established by Pablo Palomo MA in alternative therapies.

Science does not consider cellulite as a cosmetic problem that should be left exclusively in the hands of the beauty industry, but a disorder in which the drug must be present.

The best thing to do to get rid of cellulite, or at least slow down and reduce its incidence is the realization of a comprehensive treatment that combines proper diet, physical activity and medical therapy, mainly.

For example, you can use ultrasound, laser therapy, electrolipósisis, acupressure, electro, among others. However, the pathology is reduced, but not mean it is permanently deleted.

Tip About Types of Allergies

Allergy can be defined as a hypersensitivity immune response to some people who have contact with certain substances called "allergens." That is, when inhaled, ingested or touched. The genetic and environmental factors are an important factor for the development of allergies. Symptoms can range from mild discomfort to the problems that threaten their lives. There are different types of allergies, the most common are food allergies, pollen, dust mites, insect bites and allergies to animals.

An allergy is an overreaction of the immune system to a substance that is harmless to most people. But in an allergic person, the immune system treats the substance (called allergens), as an invader and reacts inappropriately, causing symptoms ranging from mild discomfort for problems that may endanger a person's life.

The immune system of an allergic person, in an attempt to protect the body against what it perceives as a threat, produces antibodies called immunoglobulin E (IgE) against the allergen. In turn, these antibodies cause cells to release chemicals including histamine mast, into the bloodstream to defend against the allergen invader.

The tendency to develop allergies often have a hereditary basis, which means you can "broadcast" from parents to offspring through genes. However, the fact that you, your spouse or a child is allergic to something does not mean that all children must necessarily inherit some kind of allergy. In addition, a person usually does not inherit a particular allergy, just have a tendency to have allergies.

However a child may have allergies though no other family member is allergic.
